SIELE

Overview

To have your Spanish level credited, students can choose to do a globally recognised Spanish exam called SIELE. SIELE is known as the Servicio Internacional de Evaluación de la Lengua Española, which stands for the International Service of Evaluation of the Spanish Language.  Similar to DELE, SIELE is an Instituto Cervantes certified exam service that follows the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR), so in other words, it is an internationally recognised Spanish examination approved by the Spanish officials. Simply book a session on the SIELE website (https://siele.org/reservas?).

SIELE vs. DELE

The true difference between DELE and SIELE is how they operate their examinations. DELE is the traditional type, written exam with pencil and papers while SIELE is the modern type with everything conducted through computer and Internet. You can choose your very own exam date and session that is convenient for you for the SIELE exam. On the other hand, DELE offers  3 exam dates and fixed times every year. What's more, the SIELE exam certifies and indicates your right Spanish level rather than accessing a specific chosen level.

About Exam

Supported and promoted by various top universities in the Spanish-speaking territories, SIELE provides a comprehensive exam, covering all four reading, writing, listening and speaking areas, to assess the candidate’s Spanish capability and grade them according to the CEFR. An official certificate will be issued if the performance of the candidate is evaluated to be level A1 or above and the corresponding CEFR score will be displayed. Candidate can opt to take one of the five modules as follows.
